WOYWW

Hello again! Missed blogging last week while we were away, but I am back with lots of crafting and news of a giveaway so make sure you flick to the end of this post. Been very busy. So what is on my work desk this Wednesday? Well, it is on the floor really...
The bare basic layout was on my work desk a couple of weeks ago, ready for embellishment. It looked like this in the beginning...
Then I popped on some more details...
Ribbon flowers made by hand...
Tag for the date...

Feathery flower...
The back looks like this as I gutted the paper to make it go further...
The photographs are from our day trip to Wallington in Northumberland on Sauturday - a great National Trust place which I heartily recommend you visit. You can see pictures from the visit here. I used My Mind's Eye Indie Chic papers in nutmeg for this 12x12 scrapbook layout. The papers are called Family Laurel Burst, Memories Tapestry and History Medallions. Embellishments from a Wear Crafts Embellishment Bag. There is another layout made with this collection here.

Don't forget to check out our GIVEAWAY in Simply Cards and Papercraft Magazine 101. I will pop onto as many desks as I can tonight. Have a great Wednesday. The mist is falling here in County Durham, but I am optimistic that the sun will burn away the mist and shine through for the rest of the day. jenx

  5. Hello Jen,
I love your layout and the 'how I did it' pictures. Also like the idea of putting a number of photos onto one page. That makes sense to me as I like to have an overview. Lovely work.
And thanks for leaving a comment for me too. You're right, the journal is very tactile and I will enjoy adding to that in various ways that don't detract from it.
    Enjoy the week,
    Ros. #14

    1. i often put lots of small photos on a page because i just take too many! there are at least another 40 which i took on the same visit and the all capture a bit of the day. jenx

  6. Oh I really like that layout! I like multi-photo ones, cause like you, I often have so many photos from an event if I did one photo a page I would soon run out of space in the house!

    :)

  11. Really lovely LO Jen, great colours and I don't blame you for gutting the back of the paper either. We spent a week camping in Kielder waaaaay back in October of 92, but I still remember every detail of it. We visited Wallington, the gardens were beautiful in the early Autumn, you should pop back if you get the chance.

  29. Great layout, Jen. Love the papers you've used, and the ribbon flowers are lovely.

Glad you enjoyed my second annotated photo! I'm not doing them every week, but when I've got time, or if there's too much going on to describe! They are fun to do. My flowers are coming on well, despite the mess in the room - I'm managing to find a square inch or two to work in, but there are Cuttlebugs and stamps and papers and distress inks spilling onto the floor lol!!

  31. Beautiful layout!! I think we should change the name to What's On You WorkFloor Wednesday!!! Yay!

I noticed you were replying to your comments on this page. Did you know that if you read the comment through your email, that for the majority of bloggers, you can just hit reply on your email and email them directly? It doesn't work every time as some bloggers don't have their email addressed attached to the comments, but when it does work, it's SO MUCH quicker!! And if they don't come back and check your comment section when you reply like you have been, they'll miss what your reply is...sad. Just a tidbit!

  32. Oh wow, interesting and very pretty layout. Wallington Hall brings back memories - a regular trip on Sundays for a lot of years. Plus Shakespeare on the Lawn on Summer evenings whilst swatting off midgies or hiding under umbrellas :)

I lived in Ponteland so it was just up the road.

  41. Hi Jen - thanks for stopping by!

Can't say as I blame you for gutting the back of the paper to stretch it - I balk at paying the price for some of these papers knowing they're just going to be covered up, and I'm always gutting cardstock on cards when I'm matting and layering....
