Happy Monday

Happy Bank Holiday Monday! Hope you have something lovely planned. So, to Christmas! Everyone else has already started their Christmas Crafting, so I thought I had better start too! Here is a cute little place card for the festive table.
What a terrible photograph! But, this is quite classy and simple, I think. A bit like me (lol). I have entered this into challenge. Don't forget to check out the GIVEAWAYS here and here. Thanks for popping by, jenx

Sunday Scrapping

Finally finished the 12x12 layout, complete with journaling! And the shadow of the laundry basket on the table on the left, lol!
If you want to see the sketch on Saturday Scrapping which prompted me, look HERE. If you want to see the way it opens out, look HERE. I used My Mind's Eye Indie Chic, Woodware Chippies and a Wear Crafts Embellishment Bag. Hope you had a lovely Sunday, jenx

Cardmaking Ideas

Sigrid made some quick and easy cards with some tiny toppers. Leave a comment to let me know what you think... remember, I am trying to encourage her to start her own blog! Happy Sunday, Jenx

Less Is More Challenge

The challenge is 3-2-1. So I used a one layer card with one button type, two inks for the edes and a three letter word. I arranged the button in 3-2-1 tree also. Hope this is clean and simple. I really tried to minimise the embellishments (hard for me!), leave white space and not over fuss. Any comments appreciated - especially if they help me get the 'less is more'criteria right! All constructive criticism welcome! Happy Saturday, jenx
We'd love you to display our banner

Saturday Scrapping

Finished the page except for the journaling! Finally...

I think when it is all opened out the yellow spaces at the bottom left and the middle left look a little strange so I am going to patch those up so the yellow is covered but the patching doesnt show from the front when the layout is closed.

I used My Mind's Eye Indie Chic Nutmeg Collection Boy Checker, My Mind's Eye Indie Chic Nutmeg Collection Hanging Out Roses, the new Woodware Chippies Alphabet, and a Wear Crafts Embellishment Bag.

The sketch is on this Saturday Scrapping page. Don't Forget the Giveaways HERE and HERE. And if you want to join the Craft 'n' Chat Crop, the booking information is HERE.

Happy Saturday... off to buy a Blazer for DS1 who has grown about ten feet over the holidays... must stop feeding him and exercising him lol. jenx

Rocking Your World Friday

Happy Friday!

These things have rocked this week...
  • Tunstall Reservoir Walk;
  • Fountains Abbey and Ripon Visit;
  • Waskerley Way Walk;
  • Stash raiding at mam's;
  • Shopping in Ikea (could spend a fortune!);
  • Scrapbook Shop Spotlight, page 7 of the Scrapbook Magazine;
  • DS1 going all Bradley and cycling to Durham and back!
  • DS2 loving Yoropens (I am a lefty too and I can't believe how comfy they are);
  • Finding a lovely caravan site just outside of Ripon;
  • Crafters booking places on our first ever crop! Eek!
  • Spending time with family;
  • I have even enjoyed housework this week!
  • Nice text messages from friends;
  • Meeting lovely people on Sunday;
  • Scrapbooking;
  • Taking photos.
One for a Scrapbook Page I think!

Hope your week rocked. I have been hopeless at commenting this week and I am determined to get round to everyone more regularly. Holidays are just weird. Where does the time go? What happens to the routine? Off to make spaghetti bolognaise for tea now... byeee! jenx

Thoughtful Thursday

Thinking carefully about all the good things today in preparation for rocking my world over at Celtic House tomorrow.

In the meantime... remember the layout sketch and 12x12 scrapbook papers I posted on Saturday Scrapping? Well, I have trimmed and cut the papers and I have some seaside photos to scrap which match the colours perfectly. The first arrangement is this...
Nothing is inked or glued yet and I still need to moves things around a little. However, I am fairly pleased with the arrangement. Pop back later to see what happens. Have a great day, jenx

Wednesday, 22 August 2012

Hello, woywwers! Lovely and sunny here but there is no crafting on the floor or the kitchen table today. My work desk - yes, work desk - looks like this...
... a bit of a mess! I am trying to organise the spare room so that I have a crafting space. At the moment everything crafting related and ready to scrap is on the desk which is currently standing at about three feet higher than the desk surface! Seriously need some storage. If you like National Trust places, I posted some lovely photos of Fountains Abbey here on my Time For Yourself Tuesday page. Feel free to have a browse - there is one at the end of the post that has my youngest son in stitches every time he sees it! Have a great Wednesday! jenx

Please feel free to follow the link and let me know what you think!

Time For Yourself Tuesday

I did make time for myself today but it was not crafting time, it was family time! We went to the super Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal for the Day - another great National Trust place. This is another place we love. Rather than post crafting today I am posting inspiration... warning this is picture heavy! In no particular order...

A beautiful water park for strolling.

Main tower.

I like arched windows.

I like the place where lots of walls meet.

As I said, I like arched windows.

I like arches in lines.

As I said, I like arches in lines.

I also like arches in lines on an angle.

Spot the family resemblance - like mother like son pose!

And just because DS1 and DS2 thought this was the coolest sign ever (snapped near a military training ground).

Hope you made time for yourself this Tuesday. jenx
